Dr. Powell was born and raised in South Louisiana. She received her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University. She went on to complete her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica, where she met her husband, Dr. St. John. Following this she completed her internship and residency at Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, where she served as chief resident from 2014-2015. Dr. Powell is board certified in Internal Medicine and has worked in hospital medicine for several years before transitioning to post-acute care. In her free time, she enjoys cooking Cajun specialties, traveling, and spending time with family.
